Our team is growing! We are looking for Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Multifamily Interior Designers to join our team in Newport Beach. Our candidates will be professional, creative, hardworking, and looking to build a successful career in interior design. In addition, we are looking for a Junior Residential Interior Designer with a focus on CAD, design support, and presentations.

ABOUT US: Design Tec is a boutique design firm offering full-service interior design and merchandising expertise for model homes, private residences, sales and leasing offices, and multifamily communities. Each project is different and we specialize in taking it from inception all the way through to completion, supporting and collaborating with our clients on every detail through every phase. We consistently deliver creative, targeted, and compelling interiors that offer a complete design experience from interior-architectural detailing, innovative space planning, and a creative balance of color, texture, and form. Available Positions:

Junior Interior Designer (Multifamily)

ORANGE COUNTY, CA

We are currently seeking an Interior Design Assistant / Junior Designer to join our team of professionals in Newport Beach. This position will provide project administrative support to Senior Interior Design staff and assist in the management of day-to-day production of multifamily interior design projects to meet deadlines accurately.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide project administrative support to designers
  • Develop a strong relationship with vendors
  • Research and organize project data
  • Assist in creating budgets
  • Source finish samples and upholstery
  • Collaborate with the design team to prepare creative design elements and FF&E selections
  • Assist in producing a schedule of materials
  • Assist in requesting pricing of FF&E and design finishes
  • Assist in preparing digital presentations and ordering finish samples
  • Update, organize and maintain design library
  • Assist in the production of construction drawings and graphics

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
  • 3 years of interior design experience in multifamily and/or hospitality discipline
  • Technical proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe applications
  • SketchUp experience is desirable
  • Strong professional ethics, written, and verbal skills
  • Strong organization, planning, and prioritization skills

Project Coordinator/Interior Designer (Multifamily)

ORANGE COUNTY, CA

We are seeking a Project Coordinator to collaborate with our multifamily design team developing and coordinating multiple projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate, assist, and initiate ideas and design concepts with the team
  • Generate design sketches, space planning, floor plans, elevations, sections, construction & millwork details to facilitate design concepts
  • Extensive knowledge of finish materials, furnishings, and construction methods related to interior architecture
  • Generate fully coordinated construction documentation, SketchUp model views, and work effectively on Bluebeam REVU
  • Create graphic presentations
  • Respond to site issues urgently and via RFI’s through client portals. Effectively file RFI logs
  • Review finish submittals. Effectively file submittal logs
  • Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally with all levels of staff and consultants

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Interior Architecture/Interior Design Associates Degree from an accredited college
  • Advanced AutoCAD, SketchUp Modeling, and Bluebeam REVU
  • Intermediate Adobe Creative Suite skills
  • Basic knowledge of REVIT desirable
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems, codes, and ADA requirements
  • Proven ability to solve Construction Administration issues within the established design context
  • Strong organizational skills (ability to schedule & prioritize), time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent communication skills including written and verbal
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the interior architecture & design industry with substantial multifamily interior design/documentation experience required

Senior Interior Designer (Multifamily)

ORANGE COUNTY, CA

We are seeking a Senior Designer to collaborate with our multifamily design team developing and managing multiple projects. Our candidate must be local and willing to work full-time in our Newport Beach office. This position will report to the Design Director and assist in leading and mentoring the design team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate, assist, and initiate ideas and design concepts with the team
  • Generate design sketches, space planning, floor plans, elevations, sections, construction & millwork details to facilitate design concepts
  • Extensive knowledge of finish materials, furnishings, and construction methods related to interior architecture
  • Prepare and manage FF&E budgets
  • Ability to manage a project from concept to completion
  • Attend client meetings, create and manage budgets and schedules, and work with the team to prepare presentations
  • Respond to site issues urgently and via RFI’s through client portals. Effectively file RFI logs
  • Review finish submittals. Effectively file submittal logs
  • Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally with all levels of staff and consultants

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

We are currently seeking a Junior Designer to collaborate with our design team. Our candidate must be local and willing to work full-time in our Newport Beach office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate and assist in the execution of project-specific assignments
  • Assist in project relevant research
  • Generate design sketches, space planning, floor plans, elevations, sections, construction & millwork details to facilitate design concepts
  • Create graphic presentations
  • Position will require some travel for project installations

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Completion of Interior Design degree from an accredited college
  • AutoCAD skills/experience
  • SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite skills required, InDesign is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills (ability to schedule & prioritize) time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent communication skills including written and verbal
  • Ability to prepare design and/or technical graphic presentations
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the interior design industry
